Program syllabus
The program is 16 months long and is divided between a fulltime semester at school and an «executive» part-time second semester (one week a month during 6 months plus the professional thesis). For the second semester, each student will choose between two options : CAM (Computer aided manufacturing) and CAD (Computer aided design)
The full program includes 439 hours of teaching (see below for details), and a professional thesis.
The professional thesis can address one of the following types of subjects:
1) a business subject (for companies),
2) an entrepreneurship / star-tup project or,
3) a research subject.

FACULTY
The program is organized by the following team:
- Romain Duballet – Director
PhD Engineer from Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées and co-founder of XtreeE, a technology company dedicated to large scale 3D printing, Romain Duballet coordinates research projects around innovative building systems and robotic manufacturing. He has taught computational design and parametric architecture in various design and architecture schools. He has been teaching the Research Studio since 2019 and leading the executive master since 2021.

- Romain Mesnil - Academic Board
PhD structural engineer, graduate of the Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées and MIT, Romain Mesnil is particularly interested in design processes informed by digital technology. His thesis subject, related to the design of structures with complex geometry and was awarded the Hangai Prize in 2017 by the International Association for Shells and Spatial Structures. He is the project manager of the Co-Innovation lab des Ponts and the Build'in platform since 2017. He has published fifteen articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented his work in ten international conferences.
See his ResearchGate profile.
- Olivier Baverel - Academic Board
Olivier Baverel is a professor at the Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées and professor at the Grenoble School of Architecture. He is also a researcher at the Navier and GSA laboratories and editor of the International Journal of Space Structures. Her research focuses on structural engineering, the rationalization of the manufacture of envelopes with complex geometry, and life cycle analysis. He has developed innovative construction systems, such as composite material gridshells and nexorades. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures.
