The world of energy is undergoing a transformation. The end of regulated tariffs and the opening up to competition, the development of markets, energy transition and economic uncertainties in the oil and gas markets are all factors that favour the emergence of new players and impose profound changes on incumbent operators.
Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées, which depends on the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity, is fully committed to the objective of transitioning towards decarbonised energy. Our approach is resolutely multi-disciplinary by addressing scientific, technological, economic and political aspects of the ecological transition through our training courses.
Programmes
► Energy Transition At Local Scale
The aim is to provide training in the simulation, modelling, design, assessment and operation of a system (vehicles, building, processes, products, services…) in terms of observed energy performance, from the scale of individual materials to that of the city, including buildings, infrastructures, transport systems, all in consonance with the geopolitical challenges of energy, and with a particular emphasis on acceptability and the appropriate scale.
► Management of energy projects
Students will develop the abilities required to integrate the different areas of the management and engineering of energy projects, from their conceptual and business development phase, marketing, financing, public acceptance, construction, operations, etc.
► Nuclear Energy, Decommissioning and Waste Management Specialty
This program provides the necessary knowledge related to the decommissioning of old nuclear power stations and the management of waste.
► Sustainable Real Estate and Building, Energy and Digital Transitions
This is one of the few programs in Europe that connects the culture of real estate, founded on law and finance, and the culture of construction, founded on architecture and the engineering sciences, from the perspective of sustainable development.
► Transport and Sustainable Development
To train future global executives responsible for the planning and design of vehicles, transportation systems and mobility services in the issues of sustainable development, the Masters mobilizes a wide range of specialist spheres (engineering, economics, planning) and specific tools (modelling, institution analysis, management).
► Engineering of Large Energy Structures
The aim of this program is to prepare young civil engineers to manage design and construction projects for large energy production and storage structures: nuclear power stations, dams, offshore structures, wind farms.
► Economics of Sustainable Development, the Environment, and Energy
The objective of this Master's program is to give future researchers and senior executives a grasp of multiple disciplines (economics, engineering sciences, life sciences) and tools (economic analysis, modelling, institutional analysis, governance) that they can implement in the pursuit of sustainable governance.
