Alumni Association

Ponts Alliance, an officially registered non-profit association, was set up in 1860. Today, it represents slightly more than 13,000 graduates in numerous sectors all around the world. |
Since 2006, Ponts Alliance has been the brand name of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées Alumni Association, set up in 1860 and recognised as a non-profit organisation in 1885. At its creation, the Association had a dual goal:“to unite members of the association with bonds of lasting friendship”; “to give each member the means to pass on to his colleagues, and spread to the public, the knowledge he has acquired”.This dual objective remains, but the Association’s membership, originally restricted to civil engineers, has been extended to all holders of a qualification from École nationale des ponts et chaussées (engineers and other holders of a Masters degree, doctorate, specialist Masters degree or MBA).
In the last 30 years, Ponts Alliance has played a major role in promoting the reputation of the School:
- by supporting the development of research and lifelong learning at the School
- by contributing to the creation of the School Foundation;
- by creating the Meunier and Perronet student residences near the School.
Ponts Alliance has set itself 6 essential tasks:
- to unite and represent all graduates of École nationale des ponts et chaussées;
- to defend the interests of its members and promote their image in their activities at home and abroad;
- to provide a venue where graduates can come together to exchange ideas and engage in discussions in the spirit of École nationale des ponts et chaussées, whatever their professional sector;
- to help and advise its members in finding jobs and/or developing their careers and in business creation and development;
- to promote the development and reputation of École nationale des ponts et chaussées in France and abroad;
- to foster communication between students and all its members, whether through teaching, guidance or career advice.
In pursuing these aims, it relies upon:
- an operational network present in numerous business sectors (civil engineering, industry, transport, finance, environment, information technology, telecommunications, public service at local, national and European level,…) and everywhere on the planet, since almost a quarter of École des Ponts graduates work abroad;
- teams of motivated volunteers involved in running vocational or geographical groups, or on the employment committee;
- a team of permanent staff ready to listen to and assist members;
- a wide range of communication tools (website, “e-ponts” newsletter, blog, PCM magazine, Directory) through which students and the Association’s members and partners can obtain information and participate in the activities of Ponts Alliance.
