60th anniversary of the Master’s in Urban Planning and Project Management (AMUR)

Join us on 12 October 2026 for a special evening organised by Urbaponts, the alumni association of urban planners from the École nationale des ponts et chaussées, with the support of the School itself, which will bring together graduates, lecturers, students, urban professionals and institutional partners.

Through the testimonies of the men and women who have contributed – or continue to contribute – to the development of our regions over the past 60 years, this event will offer a multi-perspective view of the transformations in urban planning and the responses required to address major environmental, social and regional challenges.

At a time when heatwaves are a stark reminder of the urgent need to rethink our cities, their public spaces and their planning approaches, the 60th anniversary of the AMUR course provides an opportunity to launch a debate on the essential changes required in our regions and professions.

On the programme:

• round-table discussions bringing together graduates from several generations, from a variety of professional backgrounds;
• a design fiction workshop exploring possible futures for careers in urban planning;
• a retrospective celebrating 60 years of the AMUR course;
• a social gathering to encourage interaction between alumni, students, teaching staff and partners.

How can we train urban planners to tackle climate and social challenges?

Established in 1966, the AMUR training programme has been at the forefront of six decades of profound changes in regional development and urban policy. From new towns to the major challenges of the ecological transition, and from urbanisation to the challenges of climate adaptation, it has trained several generations of professionals committed to the transformation of cities and regions.

This anniversary event will therefore provide an opportunity to reflect on this shared history, whilst opening up a dialogue on the future of urban planning – and in particular on how the planning professions must continue to evolve in an era of climate adaptation, land-use efficiency and regional transformation.
