Albert Caquot Historical and Scientific Symposium
To mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the visionary engineer Albert Caquot, the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale (S.E.I.N.) is co-organising, alongside a number of partners, a historical and scientific symposium on his career, his work and his legacy:

A graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École des Ponts et Chaussées, Albert Caquot was a leading figure in 20th-century French engineering and left his mark on his era through his achievements in aeronautics, civil engineering structures and major industrial projects. Alongside and in addition to his work as a builder, he developed a passion for an emerging science: soil mechanics. National circumstances led him to expand his activities into the fields of ballooning and aeronautics. Albert Caquot taught, notably, at the École nationale des ponts et chaussées.
