Historic donation of 4.5 million euros for the integration of the School into the Institut Polytechnique de Paris
The Fondation des Ponts is pleased to announce the largest donation from a private individual in its history. Thierry Déau, an alumnus of the 1992 graduating class of the École nationale des ponts et chaussées, has generously contributed 4.5 million euros to support the integration of the School into the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris), in particular with a view to financing a new building for the purposes of this integration.
Thierry Déau is the founder and chairman of Meridiam, an investment fund specializing in the development, financing and long-term management of sustainable infrastructures. Under his leadership, Meridiam has become a key infrastructure player in Europe, North America and Africa, with a strong commitment to ecological transition and sustainable development. His career reflects his commitment to finding solutions for major contemporary challenges, including climate change adaptation and infrastructure resilience.
For many years, Thierry Déau has been actively involved in the Ponts community: President of the alumni association - Ponts Alumni from 2020 to 2024, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondation des Ponts since 2017 and of the École since 2020. His strategic vision and constant involvement have been essential to the influence and development of the School and its community.
