A look back at the 10h edition of One Night to Innovate
École nationale des ponts et chaussées organized on the night of December 5 to 6, the 10th edition of One Night to Innovate together with international partners Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Italy), Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) & the ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland), from the EELISA European Alliance.
Nearly 200 French and foreign students registered to this event from: the School, partners institutions of the European university EELISA (BME, ITU, UPB, FAU, ZHAW, SSSA), business schools (HEC, Excelia business school), IP Paris (École polytechnique, Ensae Paris, Télécom Paris) or other engineering schools in Paris region and others institutions outside Europe. Whether they were interested in setting up their own business, already had a project in mind or just wanted to team up in favor of innovation and entrepreneurship, this initiative was a great opportunity to kick-start their ideas.
After a presentation from entrepreneurs about the entrepreneurial spirit, the students took part in a project launch workshop, the first step in a collaborative project under the guidance of experienced professionals.
At the end, 87 students from École nationale des ponts et chaussées, Paris Region and co-organizing institutions, partners from the EELISA European University alliance (Budapest University of Technology and Economics, İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București) worked all night to work around the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals to identify a problem by group after choosing the issue they wanted to develop. Each project had to address at least one of these 17 goals.

Surrounded by experts ready to supervise and advise them: young start-up creators, senior experts, academic representatives and employees from partner companies (L’Oréal and Vinci). The projects are presented in the early morning between 7am and 9:30am in front of a jury composed of the School’s management, alumni who have become entrepreneurs, recognized professionals and academic representatives from the EELISA European University. 15 high-quality projects have been submitted to the jury.

The topics such as natural water purification, innovative medical or online sales platforms, or even optimization of water use have been the source of many clever, innovate projects for this 10th edition of One night to innovate. It showed us once again the application of future engineers to find solutions to improve daily life.
The School thanks all those who contributed to the organization of this night as well as the coaches, jury, alumni, d.school, Genius Ponts, La Fondation des Ponts, the Singular Planet Foundation, and the partner companies L'Oréal and Vinci.
