TrembLess, Sarah Gebai's project, alumni of the School
Sarah Gebai defended her thesis in 2020, which she completed at the Navier Laboratory under the supervision of Gilles Foret and Gwendal Cumunel, respectively research director and researcher at the École nationale des ponts et chaussées.
Her project: TrembLess could offer hope to many patients suffering from tremors, including those with Parkinson's disease
It is a safe, non-invasive, non-electrical, drug-free bracelet designed to reduce the symptoms of tremors in patients. It offers an alternative to drugs with numerous side effects or to heavy surgical treatments, which are sometimes risky and often very expensive. Nearly 800,000 people in France and more than 5 million in Europe are currently affected, and this number will continue to rise over time.
Sarah continues to develop her TrembLess project, the result of more than 10 years of research.
It was at the Navier laboratory that Sarah Gebai began developing her project to study the performance of mechanical systems in reducing the amplitude of tremors, in particular by reconstructing an arm that reproduces these tremors for experimental validation with the help of her thesis supervisors. During her thesis, she benefited from the support of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (Prof. Emmanuel Flamand-Roze and Dr. Élodie Hainque), who are interested in this innovation.
On June 25, Sarah Gebai was honored as a finalist for the “Young Scientific Talent Award” presented by Philippe Baptiste, Minister of Higher Education and Research.
Recently, it has benefited from a partnership with ISAE-Supméca, and more specifically with Jean-Luc Dion, professor, for the development of the TrembLess bracelet.
To finalize this stage and make the product available in 2026, it needs financial support.
