Tribute to Jean-Michel Beacco
A tribute to Jean-Michel Beacco will be held on January 19, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Collège de France (Marguerite de Navarre hall), to celebrate his legacy and highlight the profound mark he left on the scientific and institutional landscape. Jean-Michel Beacco had been chair of the School's Economics, Management, and Finance Department since October 2022.
This gathering will be an opportunity for collective reflection on what Jean-Michel Beacco helped to build and pass on: a demanding vision of research, a spirit of disciplinary openness, and a rare ability to bring together mathematics, finance, economics, artificial intelligence, and societal issues within the Institut Louis Bachelier and beyond.
The presentations will offer a variety of perspectives—scientific, institutional, and personal—to illustrate the richness of this legacy and how it continues to inspire projects, foundations, and research communities.
