Understanding the obstacles to public action in the face of climate ambitions

01 Oct. 2026 - 01 Oct. 2026

As the effects of climate change intensify, a key question arises: why do climate policies still struggle to meet the necessary level of ambition?

At a conference organised by Efficacity on 1 October 2026, from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm, at the Cité Descartes, Arnaud Goussebaïle, a research engineer at the School, will shed light on the obstacles currently hindering the acceleration of the climate transition. By analysing the political, economic, institutional and societal dimensions of climate action, he will review the progress made over recent decades, as well as the gap that remains in relation to the Paris Agreement’s targets. This event is open to all and aims to provide a better understanding of the challenges of the climate transition and to identify the levers needed to move towards more ambitious action.
