Training of high-level engineers

The mission of École nationale des ponts et chaussées is to provide initial and ongoing training for engineers to give them high-level scientific, technical and general skills and prepare them to fulfil positions of responsibility in numerous fields.

The School equips engineers witha dual range of skills in the technical and managerial spheres.The training programmes seek to meet both the aspirations of students and the needs of employers.The latter are keen to work with engineers who:

• Possess a solid scientific and technical grounding;
• but are also capable of understanding the economic, managerial and social dimensions of issues, in order to tackle the complexity of real-world situations;
• who are capable of working in teams with other specialists from different backgrounds.

Throughout their degree programme, students alternate between academic learning and practical, on-the-job training.Around half of the degree programme is spent in internships.
