An alumni of the School has won the 2026 L’Oréal-UNESCO France Prize
The L’Oréal Foundation, in partnership with the French Academy of Sciences and the French National Commission for UNESCO, has announced the winners of the 2026 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science France Award. The prize recognises 35 doctoral and post-doctoral researchers whose work addresses the major scientific challenges of the future and who are committed to passing on their passion to future generations of female researchers.
Among the winners is Anne Gagneux, a former student of the École nationale des ponts et chaussées (Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Vision and Machine Learning specialisation), who was recognised in the category “AI and Modelling: Anticipating and Shaping the Future” for her work on “Unravelling the Creativity of Generative Artificial Intelligences”.
In total, nine female researchers are affiliated with the Institut Polytechnique de Paris and its member schools. This recognition attests to the scientific excellence of the female researchers trained or hosted by the Institute’s schools.
