EELISA - European University community joining us with PSL in Paris for its Governance Meetings!

16 May. 2025

The Governing and Executive Boards of EELISA European University gathered in Paris from May 12 to 14. Alongside these two governing bodies, three additional committees met to further the alliance’s work: the Academic and Scientific Board, the Student Council, and Staff Representatives meeting.

During these 3 days of meetings, hosted by École nationale des ponts et chaussées and Université PSL, rectors, directors, and presidents from a consortium of 10 institutions members once again had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the goal of strengthening their collaboration and consolidating the strategy of EELISA, which is entering a pivotal phase in its fifth year of existence.

Key strategic decisions and reflections have been made: the signing of a joint declaration on European joint degrees, adoption of a new expansion strategy aligned with the objectives of EELISA 2.0 and revision of EELISA’s joint education strategy.

EELISA President Dale Martin officially passed the baton of the six-month Governing Board Chairship to the leaders of the new chairing institutions, École nationale des ponts et chaussées and Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL). This was one of the highlights of this week.

Our director, Anthony Briant highlights: "The acceleration of the implementation of our roadmap for joint programs, from Bachelor’s to PhD level, is a decisive response to the needs of European industry and research, particularly in addressing skills shortages and critical sectors, and a key factor in ensuring long-term sustainability of our EELISA Alliance. In the face of the challenges of climate transition, let us combine our strengths and our shared European convictions to build a more resilient and fairer society.

In addition to the working sessions, our 2 institutions had the privilege of organizing a screening of the documentary “A Mirror of the Cosmos” (EELISA special mention), directed by Isabelle Carbonell, followed by a panel discussion with experts on water pollution.

To support this transition, the next biannual meeting of EELISA’s governing bodies is already scheduled. It will take place in Istanbul this coming November, hosted by Istanbul Technical University.
