Exhibition - Félix Candela. Function, form and elegance of concrete shells

École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées is hosting a retrospective devoted to architect Félix Candela, a pioneer of concrete shells. Featuring a contemporary reinterpretation of the Oslo Botanical Garden Pavilion, on a scale of 1:3, the exhibition - the only one of its kind to be presented in France - explores his work through some twenty architectural projects.

Special opening on Saturdays: January 25th, February 1st & February 8th - From 2 to 5 PM.
Due to an internal event, the exhibition will be closed from Friday January 17 afternoon until Monday January 20 at noon.

Exhibition opening on January 9 at 6.30pm (free admission), with Anthony Briant, Director of the School; Juan Ignacio del Cueto Ruiz-Funes, exhibition curator; Davide Zampini, Cemex R&D; Jean-Michel Torrenti, Ecole Française du béton; Cyril Douthe, Jorge Hidalgo, Bernard Vaudeville, heads of the the courses on Structural Design.

An exhibition conceived by the Faculty of Architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (FA-UNAM) and the Fondation Pavillon Sicli - Architecture and Building Arts, with the participation of Cemex, whose Oslo prototype illustrates recent innovations, and the support of the Foundation of Ecole Française du Béton .
