Vincent Lepetit, School professor and researcher, awarded a prestigious ERC Advanced Grant for his project in the field of digital twins

Vincent Lepetit, School professor and researcher in the Imagine team Gaspard Monge Computer Science Laboratory, was awarded a prestigious Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC).

The Advanced Grants are intended for established researchers wishing to develop an innovative exploratory research topic, of a ground-breaking nature. The only selection criterion is scientific excellence.

This grant was awarded for the development of the 5-year project "Explorer" (Exploration of Unknown Environments for Digital Twins), which aims to develop methods to automatically capture and label video data in "open worlds". The goal is to facilitate the creation and maintenance of digital twins, virtual 3D copies of complex scenes such as cities, factories or construction sites, notably by relying on artificial intelligence.
