Women in Science and Engineers of the Future Days
As part of the Women in Science and Engineers of the Future Days, Krittika Walia, architect, research fellow at the Co-Innovation Lab, and graduate of the School's Executive Master in Digital Building Design, will present two projects she is working on to the public at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie:
- “3D Concrete: The Game-Changing Technology,” February 7th
Current research into 3D concrete printing, such as the Build'In platform, aims to develop these higher-performance, lower-carbon concretes for more responsible construction. The public will be able to discover this technology thanks to a miniature 3D concrete scanner.
- “Smart agrivoltaic solar canopy,” February 8th
This experimental project presents a new form of agrivoltaics based on a mobile photovoltaic roof that adapts to the solar cycle. Without a motor, thanks to innovative temperature-responsive materials, the panels move using their own energy, reducing carbon footprint and maintenance requirements. A model specially created for the event will be on display.
These technological innovations highlight the role of applied research, innovative materials, and sustainable construction systems, and underscore the importance of an interdisciplinary approach combining engineering, materials, architecture, and usage to support the evolution of practices in the face of contemporary climate challenges.
