Registering and reregistering at the School

Administrative registration at École nationale des ponts et chaussées is compulsory for all students once they have been notified of admission. It must be repeated in each academic year, and consists of three types of procedure:

  • completion of a registration form (online or paper)
  • payment of registration fees and tuition fees, and contribution to student Social Security
  • supply of different documents

In order to register or reregister, and depending on your category, you must complete an online registration. You will receive information by email. 

The documents required are specified on the online registration website.

What do you have to pay? 

I) Program fees

Engineering students
All engineering students admitted, outside the framework of an agreement with a foreign higher education institution, to follow the engineering program with a view to obtaining an engineering degree from École nationale des ponts et chaussées.

I/ Registration fees
1.1    Amount
A)    For new students admitted from academic year 2016 onwards: €2765, or €5530 for students who meet none of the conditions below:

  • A citizen of one of the European Union member states, of another state covered by the European Economic Area agreement, or of the Swiss Confederation.
  • A child, spouse, or partner of a citizen of one of the European Union member states.
  • A person possessing the status of a long-term resident of one of the European Union member states or a whose father, mother, or legal guardian holds that status.
  • A person holding a temporary residence permit and who is a member of a household that has been resident in France for tax purposes for at least two years.

 

1.2 Exemptions
These apply to:

  • Holders of a government scholarship (in particular Eiffel scholarships);
  • Students whose particular educational and/or medical situation makes them eligible for special conditions;
  • Students registered for a semester, but who do not attend classes at the School during that period.

1.3 Payment timetable

Registration fees are paid on registration, in a one-off payment.

If you held a scholarship awarded by the state (CROUS) or by École des Ponts and you are planning to apply to École des Ponts for a scholarship, the payment date for registration fees can be postponed.

Students admitted under agreements with foreign institutions of higher education

All engineering students admitted within the framework of an agreement with a foreign higher education institution, to follow the engineering program with a view to obtaining the engineering degree from École nationale des ponts et chaussées and the degree from their parent institution.

I/ Registration fees payable
Students admitted under such agreements pay the registration fees applicable for student engineers in accordance with the terms explicitly set out in the double-degree agreement.

II/ Contribution for CMCI (International cooperation assignment)
Students also pay the CMCI when the double-degree agreement concerns a foreign higher education institution: €858 for a full year (€248 for a long internship and €301 in the event of an extension of less than 6 months).

Exemptions apply to:
1/ recipients of a French Government scholarship  (notably under the Eiffel program);
2/ students registered for one semester (extension of less than 6 months), without attending classes at the School during that period.
3/ foreign students from the universities of Novossibirsk, KTH, Tor Vergata, École Polytechnique de Montréal, Tokyo, and Tokyotech should contact the Bureau de la vie étudiante (student life office).

Interns

All students admitted as interns, under an agreement with a foreign higher education institution, to follow all or part of the engineering program without obtaining an engineering degree from École nationale des ponts et chaussées.

I/ Registration fees payable: €858 for two semesters, €439 for one semester.
Exemptions apply to exchange students admitted under the European Erasmus+ program.
II/ Contribution for international cooperation assignment: €858 for two semesters, €439 for one semester.

This only applies to interns admitted under a double-degree agreement with a foreign institution of higher education.

Exemptions apply to foreign interns admitted under the European Erasmus+ program.

Auditors

All students admitted, individually, as auditors, to follow all or part of the engineering program without obtaining an engineering degree from École nationale des ponts et chaussées.

All auditors pay registration fees for the engineering program modules for which they register, at a rate of €103 per ECTS (credit), each module corresponding to a number of ECTS credits.

II) Contribution to student Social Security
 
The student social security contribution for academic year 2016-2017 was €215.
 
Exceptions
Scholarship students and students under the age of 20 are exempt from part of these contributions. See exemption details.
