At the end of your first year, you will choose one of the School’s six departments for your Masters program.
In L3 (Bachelors degree)
Are you in your final year of a Bachelors degree in mathematics, mechanics, physics, computer science, civil engineering, engineering sciences?
You can join the first year of the engineering program:
- You must have achieved at least an “Assez Bien” score in your degree.
- Final admission is subject to full validation of the degree.
An institute of general education
École des Ponts ParisTech is a generalist school open to several core educational specialisms. It offers a particularly open and flexible curriculum, where each individual has extensive scope to set their own direction. Closely concerned with the major issues of sustainable development, its curriculum focuses on the acquisition of a high scientific level in applied mathematics, mechanics, economics, environmental sciences, the understanding and acquisition of modeling methods, extensive technical expertise, the development of managerial skills and an education in human and social sciences, and significant exposure to the international business world.
A wide range of career choices
École nationale des ponts et chaussées offers a particularly rich and diverse range of career possibilities: construction, transportation and the environment, where French companies are world leaders, but also in industry, services, consultancy, and finance.
At the end of your first year, you will choose one of the School’s six faculty departments to enter the Masters program.
In the third year, you can choose other openings, by following a degree or non-degree course abroad, a research Masters, the MBA des Ponts, the College of Engineers, a dual École nationale des ponts et chaussées-HEC curriculum, and other specialist, or multidisciplinary programs in France.

Procedure timetable
- January: opening of online applications on the website
- Mid-March: registration deadline and online submission of documentation
- End of March: list of candidates accepted for written examination posted on applicants page
- April: written examinations: MCQ, and French test
- Mid-May: list of candidates accepted for interview posted on applicants page
- Mid-May to mid-June: oral examinations and interviews
- Mid-June: results sent to applicants
- The originals of all the application documents will be asked for at the interviews
In M1 (first-year Masters degree)
For academic year 2017-2018, the School is not recruiting at Masters level (M1).
In M2 (second-year Masters degree)
If you are in the second year of your Masters degree (M2), you can join École nationale des ponts et chaussées:

- for a Mastère Spécialisé® (Advanced Masters) degree
- for a PhD
