The Economics of Urban Ecological Transition Chair (Real Estate, Housing, Architecture and Development) aims to create a teaching and research platform that is recognised at academic level and open to the world of economic and political decision-making.
There are a number of economic questions to be answered: how can we meet the growing housing needs of households and develop a range of real estate that is simultaneously residential, industrial and tertiary (shopping areas, business districts), while at the same time supporting the urban ecological transition? How can we make the most of initiatives and projects with a high ecological value, both economically and financially? How to the value chain and in particular the economic role of new entrants in the new filières of the real estate that draw? How to promote the density and the recycling of the real estate that are new? How to promote the density and recycling of urban fabric while conserving the quality of life spaces?
The aim of the Chair is to create a centre of expertise in real estate economics and the economy of ecological transition, focusing on the added value of professions and skills to enable all players in the economic value chain of city and real estate production (planning, financing, project management, construction) to produce and build the housing, office and commercial real estate and city districts of tomorrow in a sustainable and low-carbon way.
The Chair’s priority is to train young talent and researchers by welcoming interns, doctoral students and post-doctoral students from a wide range of backgrounds. Finally, it is a forum for exchanges between researchers and professionals interested in promoting the ecological transition of cities.
