NEW - Critical Materials

The Mastère Spécialisé® - Executive Master in "Critical Materials" is a fast-track and multi-disciplinary program for professionals in the Supply Chain, Strategy, CSR and Innovation C-Suite.

Context and Objectives - New Executive Master!

Critical Materials - Navigating Resource Scarcity for Sustainable Value Creation. The availability of energy resources has been the subject of extensive scientific, technical, and academic research. However, the question of mineral and metal availability for the ecological transition is more recent. The Mastère Spécialisé® - Executive Master “Critical Materials” by École nationale des ponts et chaussées aims to broaden the scope to all potentially critical materials, beyond polarized debates between extreme scenarios, and equip participants with methodologies and tools to develop sustainable strategies. These strategies will help address the needs of various sectors by adopting a systemic and multidisciplinary approach.

After defining the concept of resource criticality (ore, metals, minerals, processed materials, construction materials, etc.), considering relevant geographical scales, the program will cover key topics such as:

  • Global Geopolitics
  • Material flow analysis
  • Usage analysis and demand assessment
  • Eco-design
  • Technical and business model innovation
  • Circular economy
  • Recovery and recycling strategies
  • Life cycle analysis

These systemic analyses will also incorporate geopolitical considerations, industrial strategies, risk assessments, and long-term supply chain security across different value chain stages. Additionally, the program will cover financial aspects, particularly decision-making in uncertain business and technical environments, as well as legal and regulatory frameworks.

Program Assets

The strengths of the course are:
